Update on Meeting 1 of 5

I could not attend last night since they moved it to Thursday due to the snow on Wednesday. Rochelle went as did Pat Robbins. This update is from Pat....The meeting started with an exercise weighing each criteria on a scale of 1-10 each of the items on the facilities list e.g. age of building, value of property. This process came off as somewhat subjective. In the end this process was not completed and declared to be a wash since essentially all buildings are sound. Questions were asked about the balance of the revenue saved for closing a building and the costs associated with closing the building -many of these costs being enduring such as heating. This led to questioning the real financial gain from a school closing and where the 2 million dollar savings even came from. This was not answered, but stayed tuned......
