The Advisory Committee to discuss the feasibility of closing an elementary school includes the following members (based on who was on my e-mail:
Breanna Costello, Laurie Cassel, Robin Clearwater, Teresa Carlucci, Eve Waltermaurer, Patricia Robbins, Heidi Racioppo, Michele Juric, Anne Gullickson, Wayne Beckerman, Carl Pezzino, Sue Schwall



Committee Charge
The School Consolidation Advisory Committee ("Committee") is charged with considering any relevant information concerning the closing of an elementary school in the 2011-2012 school year. Specifically, the Committee shall do the following:


1. The Committee will become informed, starting with the facts, regarding the unprecedented impact by the loss of State and federal funding, while acknowledging the District’s significant decline in enrollment.

2. The Committee will make a recommendation to the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools as to the educational impacts of closing an elementary school not later than March 8, 2011.

3. The Committee will formulate recommendations considering the financial impact, enrollment
impact, and facilities impact of each scenario.

4. The Committee will identify positive and negative variables for each school considered for potential closure.

5. The Committee will identify uses for any school recommended for closure.

6. The Committee will provide recommendations on the transition process based on the decision to close a school.

8. The Committee is comprised of members selected to represent groups/parties/entities.
In the interest of maintaining an open process, each committee member shall report back to their respective groups regarding the progress of the Committee.

9. The Committee will submit a final report to the Superintendent and Board of Education.
